BBC Viewpoints

I met Tim Weber of the BBC (at that time their Online Business Editor) at a random drinks event in London in late 2005. We argued about my then startup, Boso, for quite a while, with Tim being very skeptical about its chances of success (he was right to be skeptical). Anyhow, we stayed in touch during 2006 (even though I remember thinking he was thoroughly unimpressed with me and the company), and when I let him know that we were leaving the UK in 2007 to move to the US to have a better go of doing the startup, he suggested I write a Viewpoint piece for the BBC explaining why I felt the need to leave. This then became a 3 part series, and then eventually almost a blog, until we ended up selling the company in mid 2008.
